About me

Hi, I'm Sachit a 21 year old self-taught engineer from India.

I've been programming and tinkering with electronics since the age of 14, it's still pretty much what I do all day. I also play a lot of video games.

I daily drive NixOS on my ThinkPad and like listening to IDM. I also like reading philosophy and history.

I currently head Shunya Research an independent AI research lab based in Bangalore, India. Working on bio-inspired AI and neuromorphic systems.

Experience

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) — Research Intern Jul 2025 - Sep 2025

During my tenure as a research intern I implemented a ConvLSTM model from scratch to predict rainrate over Kochi from data gathered during the 2018 Kerala monsoon floods. My model managed to reconstruct rainrate plots with 0.8 SSIM score on average. During my time here I also learnt how government agencies work and why they're so inefficient, this has had a significant impact on my career and approach to work.

Team Antariksh — Payload Avionics Engineer Oct 2024 - Dec 2025

I served as the Payload Avionics Engineer at Team Antariksh, a student rocketry team. During my tenure I worked on the telemetry of our rocket (codename lakshya) payload (codename starguide). We ended up winning first place at the IN-SPACE rocketry competition 2024-2025.
